Description
There were two letters. Manufactured with the ancient and dignified method of cut-out characters.
One read Remember the Sicilian Sparrow. I will get you!, the other You stole the Sparrow! Prepare to die!
She handed me a third one. It was a computer print-out for a change and simply said I want my sweet sparrow back.
I gave her a glance. She had removed the glasses.
'You want me to find out who...'
'O no, Samantha - you don't mind me calling you Samantha, do you?' her smile was... well, I didn't mind her calling me whatever she wanted to. 'I know who wrote this.'
I must have looked like a dumb-ass. She smiled again. 'My first ex husband did send me these.'
'How can you be sure?'
'Only Bob knows about the sparrow. Or better, only he ever called it the sicilian sparrow.'
'And what on earth is a sicilian sparrow, Ms. Vavoom?' I asked.
'Please call me Lo, Sam', her smile became irresistible. 'It is an old painting. Or rather a scetch of a bird. It's not worth millions but it is a 17th century Italian original. I kept it when I divorced him back in 2008.'
'And now he wants it back; after all these years...'
'You must understand, Sam, he always was ... instable - that's why I left him in the first place and by now he might be utterly mad.
I want you to save my life and my bird.'
*****
Quite a lot of words today. It is time to get the story started - and to get Sam out of the office...
...and it is more than time to give credit where credit is due:
The office is the Film Noir Detective Office by ratracer, Sam is Real women - Daniela by Doctor Jo with the fabulous Milan texture by danae, Moira is Corinna by KaiZ and last but not least Lola is by Doctor Jo again - In Praise of Older Women - Dianne for V3.
Thanx a lot to the vendors!

Doro ... I have no suggestions for this ... it's absolutely perfect. The text could use slight grammer adjustments, but that's only because Jo is a novelist and she will notice all the little, inconsiquential things. The story is GREAT. I really love it. :)
