How about that - both new and classic at the same time. The canvas works well for me (depending on the context in which the image is presented, of course). Agree with Chipp about the birds. Maybe lower their contrast a lot so they drop back into the hazy background? Maybe a few less individual birds? Maybe make the smoke a bit stronger to attract the eye back down? I wouldn't remove them entirely. My usual comment on the lack of a true black to "set the tonal dynamics", but it's probably more like an oil painting as is - one would have to A/B two versions to know for sure. I'm a tiny, tiny bit bothered by the tilted horizon. Awesome POV and composition.

Great as usual. My opinion is that your pictures are strong enough you dont need any canvas filter. Inspiration from great landscape paintures of the past is clear enough from colour palette, composition and choosing of theme. I really love your pictures. please continue!
