My name? Eric den Biesen, a Canadian of Dutch ancestry. I'm 46 years young, though I sometimes feel MUCH older. I generally like to model in trueSpace, though I'm learning Carrara and Hexagon as well. Not much free time for it, so anything I'm building progresses REAL slowly. :( I like to illustrate my tales of the Imperium with Poser and/or Bryce, or that story's prequel, Siren's Song, the story of the Human/Mer first Contact. Neither story is more than outline, and bits are told through the pics I do. And because it's fun, of course. :)

Superb sci-fi scene!
Rutra
Great action scene! I like the lighting, it's strong and effective. The one thing maybe could be improved would be girl's pose, IMHO. If she's running, her body should be in a lower angle with the floor and her arms should be with a higher angle with the torso. That would give the scene more dynamism, more sense of motion, I would think. If you're going to a cartoon style, the monster textures are fine as they are. But if you're going to realism, specially the hand in close-up should have a displacement map for the scales. Anyway, great scene!

...AND sweat! She should be sweating buckets in conditions like that! A special specular map made from "granite spots" works just perfect! I agree with the 'low center of gravity' comment. To add--the hands should be up defensively to block blows(protecting soft organ meat, head, etc) or out to balance or drawn back to strike (last act of defiance stuff). The expression should be mouth open, or grimaced, and the eyes wide and dialated with FIGHT/FLIGHT running in the program window! LOL ALL that crap said--it's still a really dynamite, dynamic render with oodles to show off! I think a little tweaking and BAMMMMMM! You got a REAL WINNER! Go for it! btw--Displacement RULES! ^__^ V,, It's my friend.

Excellent work!!!

I like the scene overall. The girl and monsters have good character and the scenery very detailed. Something is weird with her right shin it looks transparent! Is her right foot supposed to be behind her left foot? I think you cropped the top a bit too low or a bit too high - should either see the whole gray monster or crop it radically, like the red monster.
Anniebel
Impressive, regarding her feet I think she is just about to do the required trip that females seem do in any chase scene LOL
Sivana
I like the scene much - its a cool urban-image!!
Greywolf Starkiller
Actually, I checked and there is nothing wrong with her feet, though it sure looks like it. It's the way the shadow of the dragon wing falls across her legs that make it seem that way. Maybe I need to blur the shadow a bit, or lighten it slightly.

Can she escape???? Fantastic scene. Too cool . Great details and expression from the girl.
Greywolf Starkiller
Nope, the Syndicates have their captive, however, that will backfire on them. They are not ready for how the Imperium is going to respond to this. :)

I have to agree with Rutra's comments on this. Damn fine quality render but the pose seems a little static.
