No, not stupid ! I think it's a good start. Here's what I think can be improved on this picture (you'll excuse my english, I'm french !): - the texture on pyramids make them look like they are small and seen from not very far - take care about lighting logic of your scene : you placed your moon left, behind pyramids but your scene is lighted right, front of them. The shadow of the palm tree makes him looks gigantic. And we cannot know what is the light (lens flare) in the middle of the picture. - Your sky looks cool, but in the night,clouds are never so bright. - little detail : your stones in front of the scene could be improved by applying bump. Now, a subjective thoughts : there is a really good idea for that picture. The cat looks great and the general placement of elements is good. Maybe, work the 'mood' of your scene. Maybe, by lowering lighting amount, you could make your scene more mysterious... I think, as I said before, that this is a good start for a cool picture. But, making a really good one requires a lot of time for tweaking settings (lights, atmosphere, textures, etc...) If you took a look at the spotlight on 'Humorix', he explained this with (approximatively) this : "I spend 15 % of my time for making 85 % of my pictures, and 85 % of my time for the others 15 %"... I hope we will soon see some more pictures from you...
