I thought this one was very pretty - gawd, I can't believe I'm calling a bug PRETTY. LOL Well, this one is :) I don't think I have ever seen one quite like this one ... But this bugs for you, Leeco. Well thanks for the dedication Shari. I am more than happy that we are bug buddies but in truth, I am not an expert on Dragonflies, lol. I just have a good reference book on them. My best bet about this one which you have captured so well, is that it is either an immature male or a female "Calico Pennant". The yellow markings on the tail would be red on a mature male. I have not seen one at my place yet but I keep looking for new ones all the time. Thanks for sharing, Shari. Your bug buddy, Lee.

Bugs are pretty, and you've shown why. There are all sorts of awesome little flying critters around where I live but I haven't been skilled or lucky enough to get anything approaching this level of badass. You RULE.
