Description

One of the treats of photographing in a Botanical house is finding about every weird and unusual plant there is....This is NO exception. I believe this to be a tobacco plant, I maybe be wrong, they are almost calla lily looking in their leaves, and they have the most unusual look of any plant I've seen in there. If anybody knows this not to be a tobacco plant please let me know what it is. I should look at all the little latin names when I am photographing and write it down.

Thanks Ray...good idea.....I like the fleshy tones on this stamen?? if thats it, against the white shiny wet leaves....back looks busy....got to work on that....I am forcing myself to do color images as my tendency is to opt for sepia all the time....so this is new for me, and I appreciate the help!

bonbon, I knew it looked familiar! I kept wanting to suggest that it was a "Jack in the Pulpit", which grows wild around here, but I knew that wasn't right. It seemed more like a tropical flower. Syyd, nice shot. The shiny, waxxy texture is interesting. Looks like a plant that might grow in a Krel rock garden!

Definately Anthurium. Commonly known as the "Paradise Plant", and also has a phalic connotation in some societies.

It is for my a completely unknown plant, but the interesting thing that she has it is the shine of their leaf, a very good picture.
