Description
The four engine aircraft above is one of the few remaining airworthy Shorts Sunderland flying boats It is in the experimental class
Some models had 6 .50 cals which reduced the amount of rounds. A lot of pilots preferred the 4 .50's and the extra ammo.

I had a model of one of these that allowed the landing gear to retract. I was fascinated by it, but it has taken me almost until this day to understand the Goodyear version and that GM is only relevant to TBM and TBF as well as the Super Corsair?!? Sitting on the wide folding stool I could study it for hours. The different beat of these older radials with less cylinders had to be heard in flight to settle on just this one.

More interesting when you realize that the gear on these was not hydraulic or electrical but hand cranked, 27 turns or something, both up and down. The crank was fairly large too, which caused some PIOs (Pilot induced oscillations).

Cool view of this Wildcat in Atlantic Fleet colors! Not really sure what tallpindo is talking about, but Goodyear made Corsairs not Wildcats. I can't really see the tail, but my guess from the cowling and two machine gun holes is that we are looking at an FM-2 built by GM.
