Description

Eons ago, it seems, I promised you a story about my trip to Wight's Nursery in Lynnwood, Washington. I spent over an hour wandering around with my camera, and took over four hundred photos that day! ................ So there I was, snapping pictures of flowers and assorted paraphernalia, minding my own business. The employees at Wight's, ever helpful, allowed me to go about my business unmolested. A nice woman, a customer, came up to me while I was shooting some particularly lovely roses and said to me, "Are you a painter?" Feeling fairly certain that this woman had a good reason for asking me this rather odd question, given the activity in which I was engaged, I made every attempt to compose my face into an expression that would convey something other than incredulity! (I feel quite certain that I was unsuccessful.) "I do paint some," I replied, "But I'm mostly a photographer." "Oh," she said, bemusedly. And then, "OH!" as the light dawned and she realized how strange her question must have sounded to me. As it turns out, her husband is a painter, and she assumed I must be taking reference photos. A fun addition to my picture-taking expedition! ................... By the way, for those of you who came for the photograph, and not the story (!): These are ceramic trays that go under matching flower pots. Wight's has a lovely selection of this sort of thing, and I'm afraid I will be subjecting you to a few ceramic abstracts this summer. A bit of a breather from the whirlwind iris show!

Had me fooled... Even though you said stacked, I saw this as coiled hose. Odd shaped hose, but nevertheless... Very nice, Tara.

Oh, boy! I'm chuckling again! When I read the title, I was expecting 'voluptuous' and wondered if you'd been peeping at me! This is a really nice stacked group!

Ceramic trays, you say? I could have sworn they were well used frisbees. Oh well, good POV and DOF and green color, lighting and textural effects in this capture. Incidentally, when the proprietor of this fine establishment asked if you were a painter, was she implying the type that does walls and ceilings using a roller, or the paint on canvas kind?

My shed looks like this but my pots and trays are mostly for bonsai trees. However, from the thumbnail I thought this was going to be a pic of your washing up (dirty dishes)! lol. Excellent capture!
