Le choix d'une eau fig fan "verre doli" se justifie par le sujet, mais le passeur (invisible) semble compter de fan promptueuse sur le vent pour traverser. J'aime bien.

I believe Boecklin did several (slightly) different versions of "The Isle of the Dead" (I think one is in the Met in NY). One or other of them inspired Rachmaninov to write his orchestral work on the subject. This is wonderfully atmospheric, a great tribute to the original, although I do think that the boat needs to have figures in it.

Iti is true that Bklin's painting is a stunning one, not only by its composition but also because of its non-photorealistic perspective. Interesting that you did not do a copy of the original masterwork but something very original and personal. I like very much the mist of the background. The fact that there is nobody visible in the boat and that the islands and their trees look like some cardboard planes add mystery and drama to this faeric artwork. 5+++!
