That works very well as dunes. I'm so envious, because I haven't been able to get dunes that I like in Bryce. How did you do it?

There's an open-source java app called planetGenesis(planetgenesis.sourceforge.net). I fed a simple perlin multifractal into the left side of a turbulence combiner and used that to twist up a dunes node(basically a repeating gradient - gradual up, quick tumbling down. I then imported the resulting 16-bit png into a terrain. I had some other nodes in there to try to create the transverse saltation waves on the dunes. It really slowed things down and didn't look very good, I'm afraid. If I get permission from the admin, I'm going to commit a new function, "Ramp," for pG. That'll be my first published bit of programming. I'm hopeful and proud.
