Description

Fairy Dust By BobbiJo McBroom I fell right off the moon last night, I fell right off the moon! I was dreaming there without a care, when I fell right off the moon! I landed on a fairy's back, somehow I was so small I rode with her for a little while, she didn't mind at all! As we sailed across the sky, I watched in wonder great! While we drifted through the skies, the stars she did create! She sprinkled fairy dust, and as it fell, stars turned on one by one! She let me try my hand at it, I've never had such fun! When after a time she whispered,"'tis time to go back home!" I slipped into my bed on Earth, no one knew I'd gone! I told my Mom the adventure, she wants to come with me! The next time I dream of moonbeams, and being small like a fairy! We watched the skies so long that night, I fell fast asleep! She snuck off to her own bed and didn't make a peep! Tonight we'll watch the skies again, for fairies with their dust! I hope they'll take us with them, I hope, I hope, they must! We'll sail about the heavens, creating stars as we go! Sprinkling the fairy dust, dancing as we go! We'll be back home 'fore morning, with no one more the wise! Unless it's just my Nana, who'll see the fairy dust in our eyes!

What a delightful bit of story and rhyme! I was riding a moonbeam with you. You truly brought wonderful images with your words and memories of childhood fancy. Excellent BJ! [=

What a super scene you have conjured up with this poem. Very magical and beautiful. Just the sort of story I would tell my grandchildren and you have set it to verse.

I tried to change my avatar to go with it but am having little luck. RR decided that I don't need spaces between stanzas so it looks quite different than my usual work.

Oh, I fell off the moon and went on that ride with you. It was wonderful. I could easily see your magical verse in a children's book. CC

Oh what a wonderful wonderful poem! (RR can be pretty testy sometimes, I've noticed that myself!) I didn't even have to close my eyes to go on that journey with you!

To be able -- to be able to take the place of honest early eyes, unencumbered and see the moon for what it really is. That's a gift. Don't lose that, I hope.

I haven't been very good about visiting your gallery and Flannelman has shamed me. Had to look in and since I have always been told stories about the fairies and pixied and brownies and elves, I had to stop and linger a bit over your work. Excellent. :-)
