This is wonderful for your first and I bet Leeco can tell us what it is. Now that you know how to do dragonflies, I figure we'll see more from you. :-)

Gimme a minute and I can probably tell you the breed of dragonfly this is...or not...but that's beside the point. It's a great photo, rather tender and beautifully executed!

Das ist eine Super-Macro-Aufnahme! Excellent!

You're kidding! Your 1st? Way better than my first - I can tell you that. It looks like a Halloween Pennant. (Only know that because I had one a short while ago and dug that up...) Good pose and composition - just a little too soft in focus - but good anyway.

Wow - I'm impressed! Very nice work. Congratulations!

WooHoo!!! Congratulations and well done. The first is always the hardest, lol. Then you realize it can actually be done so you try some more but with a more positive attitude. Your success rate will go up and the world will be good. IMHO kjpweb is absolutely correct about the species. Probably a female or juvenile male. The yellow body markings, wing veins, and face become red in mature males. I take lots and lots of dragonfly pics and one keeper shot out of three is good results, lol. I agree again with kjpweb about the focus but I bet that could be helped a lot with some digital editing. I use paintshop Pro XI on most of my images to tweak the sharpness. It is not out of focus mind you, as kjpweb noted, it is just a bit soft. The composition and lighting and background and color harmonies are all great. You can bet your sweet bippy I would have proudly posted this as my first Dragonfly capture. Heck, truth be told, I would post it as my 100th, lol. Thanks for sharing. Lee
