" The Declaration of Independence: A Transcription -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IN CONGRESS, July 4, 1776. The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America, When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security..." I usually post to the Poser gallery, and this started out as a background for a render, but I think it can stand alone. The story about the John Hancock, on the of the signers of the US Declaration of Independence, signed his name big 'so King George could read it without his glasses". I think our current president should reread it himself. Thank you for your comments! I will try to catch up on mine tommorrow. We have company and we just brought home a new kitten but I wanted to get this up while it is still the 4th, at least here in Michigan. Have a great weekend!! Done by me in Photoshop.

Always a plus to see someone even remembers this exists! I think perhaps there are many in DC who eithr cannot read at all or pass by this so often they believe it to be merely a quaint notion on a wall hanging. Sorry off the soap box now, Thanks You. BJ

The peice is nicely composed. Very clean and neat. Your comments however are somewhat vague. I'd like to know why you feel this way. I support our President to the end. Just like when Slick Willie was in office (I can't stand the bastard) but I still accepted him as my president and would stand behind him no matter what also. I think people don't like Bush because he is doing what most people want to do but are afraid to do it, protect us. Too bad he can't go for a third term. But at least with Billary and Osama running now I feel safe that there will be another Republican president because niether of those two will ever be elected (Thank God). Oh, btw, I'm down in Ohio not to far from you, so GO BUCKEYES!!!! lol.... -chachi

Last I knew I thought that Bush graduated from the "potatoe" school of language trashing. Right up there with ettiquette 100... Never throw up on visiting dignitaries. On that note I am going to slip back into silence so that the men in black helicopters don't get me. Nice piece of work honestly, Its always nice to see when someone recognises what our country is founded on... after all I am only a 3rd generation American and darn proud of it.
