Tried my hand at a macro lens that I picked up. This was taken yesterday while at my mother's home. Thank you for taking the time to view and comment.

Wow! Excellent macro for your first time out! (Actually, it's excellent no matter how many you've taken!) The DOF is great, the focus is perfect, and the thin frame really works for me. I would have cropped out the right-hand side so the main subject isn't dead center in the frame, and postworked out the remains of the other flower, but that's just personal preference. Awesome work! Five *****!

One of the very few things I miss from back East are these lilies growing near the side of the road, every creek, etc. An excellent clear capture here with nice DOF. Hope you've been enjoying your new lens in the time between your post and my comment.
