it is very much against the law in Dallas to even posses fireworks little lone shoot them.but the police does nothing about it when people call in to report it.any given street in my small area the police could write so many tickets .I am always concerned about my house catching on fire.excellent capture

Very nice! I agree w/ Richard...Dallas and equally Anna (where my oldest son lives) does pretty much nothing about the fireworks. At his house on Wednesday, the things were shooting every which way and no one stopping it. How far away is the Fire Dept? I asked.....pretty far was the answer. Sounds like it could be SOMEBODY's unlucky day.

we cannot buy fireworks here anymore for personal use, the only time we see them is at major events..years ago we used to be able to on Guy Fawkes night and dad would let us play with the smaller ones while he let off the big bangers! That was a long time ago now and a wonderful memory from my childhood....Beautiful shot btw!

Nothing like a free fireworks show...geez, on New Years Eve we are lucky, if we get 20 minutes of a show ! Nice to see the difference, I prefer this one, as there is more of the colour spectrum visible, nice capture ! ~Cheers~ :o)

In contrast to several of your other viewers, fireworks are legal in my city and there are fireworks stands all over the place. They don't sell firecrackers, but the inhabitants acquire them from private sources; ergo, we are then treated to a virtual bombing run/artillery barrage on fourth of July evening. Huge kabooms rack and rock the night air. And, believe it or not, I don't mind it at all, just as long as I don't have to pay for the fireworks and then cleaning up the mess afterwards. Anyway, fantastic detail of the explosion, spinning glitter and glow in this time exposure.

Ooooo! I feel like I'm there watching this beautiful display. Anyone can take photos of fireworks, they are all over the web. But only a few can capture them with such great timing, clarity, and present them in a way to fill me with emotion. You are one of those few, Kort. This takes my breath away. Hugs, Suzanne

Looks like you didn't get the rain we did up north. On the other hand, all the lightning and thunder put on it's own kind of show, and it was rather spectacular...... Excellent capture, Kortaloo. Thanx for sharing! -M :^)

Richard was right to worry about fire caused by fireworks .. A few communities away from us, a house burned quite badly, leaving 8 people homeless. After the investigation, it was said to have been started by a firecracker on the roof. It is illegal to possess firecrackers and/or shoot them off in NYS. But around here, nothing is done about it. This is an awesome shot .. I like it as much as the first one!
