Description

I was taking picture by a pond and (I am not sure what this is)flew in and posed for me for about 10 minutes. Someone please identify this bird for me. Everyone that I have ask comes up with a different answer. I am sure there is someone that can help. Thanks for your wonderful comments on my last upload.

If it was taken in the UK it is most definately a Grey Heron if it was taken elsewere i aint got a clue.

It's a Heron for sure. The same one (variety) that I have been shooting. If you feed the fish bread, the Heron will fish for the fish that come up to feed. :o)b

It is certainly a grey heron. I have a few dozen photos of them. They are quite attractive but rather ungainly in flight. They also have rather cruel eyes. As they eat anything that moves that is small enough to swallow, no wonder. They also tend to empty garden ponds of fish.

Beautiful photograph... This feathered friend presented himself into your view for a reason that particular day.... but whatever that reason may be, I'm sure you will soon figure out :) Or if not, he made for a terrific model. Beautiful contrast to the greenery..... very lovely image!

Excellent shot of this Heron...they are usually quite hard to get a shot of because they fly off too quick for me. It's so nice to see this photo of one taken so beautifully. :-)
