Description

The Three Great Lights of Masonry are the Volume of Sacred Law, the Square, and the Compasses. The Volume of Sacred Law can be the Holy Bible, Qur'an, Torah or any other holy scripture, depending on the Lodge and its membership. My Lodge has the Bible, Tanakh and Qur'an all on the altar. The Square reminds us to remain "on the square" with God and all others; the Compasses admonishes us to subdue our passions, "circumscribing" our actions and remaining within due bounds. While Freemasonry does not admit atheists, and requires a belief in a higher power, it does not ask or care how the individual Brother defines his belief. Every month I sit in Lodge with Protestant and Catholic Christians, Mormons, Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Gnostics, Wiccans and Thelemites. We get along just fine. It is strictly against Masonic law to discuss religion or politics in the Lodge and it is considered to be in poor taste (between brethren) elsewhere. Props: Square & Compasses, candlesticks, altar, "G", are original. I'm trying to hunt down the modeller of the book, benches and chair.

I was curious as to when someone named after Hiram Abiff would begin a masonic series. Very nice representation. Do you belong to the order? In whom do you trust?

Yes, I am a Mason, and I assure you, my faith is well-founded.

You evoke geometry and order. Some truth is everywhere, so I agree.
