Description
Last weekend I made a 2-day drive from St. Paul Minnesota to Memphis via Chicago Illinois and St. Louis Missouri. It gave me the first chance to check out my new camera, a Cannon Rebel XTi. It’s an amazing camera, to say the least.
This post is looking up at the famous Gateway Arch located at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Park on the Mississippi River waterfront in St. Louis. The arch is to commemorate the westward growth of the United States between 1803 and 1890. Construction began in 1961 and concluded in 1965.
The arch is so large, that even when utilizing my 18mm lens, I could not achieve a complete image. However, I took a few shots to stitch together, which when completed I’ll post as well.
The giant arched stainless steel structure reaching 630 feet into the air is quite a sight, and offers many abstract images to those with some imagination.
Thanks for stopping by!
