Description

Another waterfall on Eagle Creek. Here's part of what the Waterfalls of the Pacific Northwest page has to say about it. "This pretty fall is the first major tributary waterfall along the Eagle Creek trail that can clearly be seen. While both Wauna Falls and Sorenson Falls, which are passed in the first 1 1/2 miles are difficult to see, lacy Loowit Falls provides a pleasant respite to the often violent falls along Eagle Creek. The falls are viewed from a stretch of the Eagle Creek trail that traverses an open catwalk-like section, blasted out of the face of the gorge wall. Below the trail, the gorge drops 100 feet straight down." Not much I can add to that except maybe that I should have been there earlier or on a cloudy day. The sunlight is harsh; it took some work in PhotoShop to make this presentable. Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

Okay - for the record - you ROCK, my friend! This is an awesome shot, hair-pulling postwork notwithstanding. I know you didn't personally create that fabulous pool, but I'll give you the credit anyway. After all, you're the one who hikes all over the place to bring us these jaw-dropping waterfall shots! The shape of that basin is just so fabulous and pleasing to the eye, and the dappled light on the waterfall . . . well . . . this is just beautiful all the way around. Nice work!

This is so wonderful. I keep peeking at the start of it to see how it looks before it begins to fall and I love the pool before it continues down. Good shot and excellent postwork.

The pool in this is beautiful - so round and inviting. It is too bad there isn't a place to sit by it with a good book, a loaf of bread, and a soda.

Wow! Amazing... I love the carved out pool and its 'spout' and the way the lighting gives the water running from it a gorgeous blue cast! Great shot and fantastic and seamless postwork!
