Description
Emmit ( the orange & white cat) had made his decision awhile back that he wanted to be an indoor/outdoor cat. We tried everything short of putting him in a cage to keep him in - without any luck.
One day we were at the local flea market, when we came across a lady who was selling husky pups. On the table beside their cage - another cage with two almost identical kittens and a sign "Free Kittens". My hubby took the one out, who was running about in the 90+ degree heat & petted her for a minute before returning her to the cage. I mentioned to him, the other didn't look too good b/c she was none responsive to my touch.
We ended up walking away, to only decided about 5 minutes later that it was too hot to be out in the heat. By the time we made our way back to the cage - the active kitten was gone. He reached in and pulled this little kitten out (she's still not much bigger then a soda can and weighs less then a full one to boot). We decided to take a chance on her - she really didn't look too good. But I figured even if she were to pass away after we brought her home - at least she could say she had a family at least for a little while.
But in the A/C she perked right up - getting a belly fully of food and water as soon as we got home. She has been charging around the place even though Emmit has decided he wants to be inside again!! Her name is Bitty (which I think assures us that she'll end up being huge!) and she likes to pick playful fights with her "big brother" even though he weighs about 10 pounds!!

Awwwww - What a sweet story and I hate to think that the ex-owners would have the animals out there in the heat :( Emmit and Bitty look as if they are on their way to fast friends :) What beautiful cats you have there, Kathy! :) Tina
