Description

The Taoist Temple was built to serve the religious needs of Cebu's Chinese community and to propagate the teachings of the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu, founder of Taoism. Though a center of worship for Taoism, people from different religions—even Catholics—still go there to honor the temple, to pray or meditate, and, often, to enjoy the excellent view of Cebu City. The main temple can be seen at the northern part of the temple compound. It houses 20 deities facing east and is the place where people pray, seek guidance, and light joss sticks for the soul of their departed loved ones. **http://3cities.uphighschoolcebu.edu.ph/taoisthistory.php**
