Both are appreciated.
Ponies grazing the moor near Princetown. Come the autumn they will be rounded up by the local farmers and sent to auction, most will go for pet food/meat market. The mares and fillies will return to the moor to start the process over again next year.

A lovely scene Pat. I know this trade provokes strong emotions, for me what is worse is the betrayal when animals have been kept in close contact with people and then when their usefulness is done they are sold wittingly or unwittingly into this market.

They certainly look happy and healthy, as well as doing a wonderful job keeping the grass cropped! Very picturesque :)

Lovely scene, Pat. It's a sad story, but I suppose no worse than what happens to so many cattle every year.

Sigh. A bittersweet picture. Yet that's what happens when you are not at the top of the food chain, when you aren't perceived as having thought, emotions, or value, when you are "less then" human.
