Excellent capture, Mary! It is so sad when you count how many children are like this wonderful kid, or even worst, in the world in our days!

I often think about the adults that children like this will become. What will their dreams be? How will their view of life be molded and how different will it be from others who have grown up with more? What will their life expectancy be. How will their health hold up? So many things to consider in the eyes of this child. Great portrait.

A soulful look from this little man was he happy? Easy to judge at times that poverty may not always go with heartache.. The image asks the questions so top marks from me Mary!

a beautiful portrait even as sad as it can be.I had a roof over my head as a child but often went hungry.it would be even more of a challenge with no roof. I seen many children like that in Mexico City

Sad face indeed... and in few years in Europe. Superbe Mary !

Yes, you are right..the eyes show the struggle of life this boy most likely is in, every day. Not a nice picture, but it sure is a meaningful picture and in that sense a good one.
