Wow. I'm curious about how large this display is. If it's anything like the Vietnam war memorial in Washington D.C., it must be extremely powerful. This photo triggers the same emotions I felt in the presence of the names of 50,000 dead, but this is much more disturbing. Instead of simply names, here we have faces, which is so much more evocative and provides an instant connection with each individual. An excellent photograph. Thank you for posting it.

What a haunting display. These faces ilicit such an intense emotional response. I can't even begin to put them into words. It is estimated that 2 million Cambodians died by starvation, torture or execution during Pol Pot's reign of terror. Two million Cambodians that represented approximately 30% of the Cambodian population at that time.

Pol Pot and his gang of cranks murdered a million innocent people. Isn't it ironical that it was the Vietnamese, and not the Americans, who eventually entered Cambodia (or; Kampuchea, as the Red Khmer called it) and restored everything? What I can't comprehend is that this bastard, and doubtless many with him, was never brought to trial. He died an old man.
