Description
A Fathom is only 6 feet, so not as scary as the picture might potray. I want to get more practice doing underwater scenes with Carrara. It's a lot easier in Bryce for some reason. Maybe because all Bryce images have a subtle blue haze to them?
Anyway, here's another book cover. Wings, Carrara and Photoshop.

Sweet image and scene! Really like the way you did the lighting over the title, also. Models fit into the underwater atmosphere exceptionally well!

I hear you, Phil. I haven't gotten an underwater scene out of Carrara yet that I've been 100% satisfied with. Carrara has better, not to mention faster, volumetrics than Bryce, but Bryce has a richer haze, a wide array of light shapes (which you can further smash and twist), and unparalled transparent and reflected materials. In Bryce, a water plane looks just as good from underneath as from above. I'll still keep plugging away in Carrara and share my settings if I hit upon anything worthwhile. Great pic, btw. Would make a great book cover.

Cool. Haven't had much success with underwater scenes my self. Just can't seem to get the hazy caustics thing down. But all things considered, Don't you agree that Carrara is hands-down the best overall prog in the 3D arena? I do, anyway.
