I started Brycing in November of 2003 after being introduced to it through the owner of www.mulawa.net, Peter Hewitt. He created a set of tutorials and sent a group of us a book called Advanced Bryce Creations. His generoisity has led to many hours of joy for me as I create the images you will see in my gallery.
I was able to start Brycing because I no longer worked as a CAD drafter at the local foundry which lost most of its business to overseas businesses. My husband supports me for the time being but says when he retires, I get to go back to work so we have health insurance. We will see :D
Stats: Female, married, no children, brown hair, hazel eyes, glasses, drink Bacardi Limon and diet Pepsi(have since given this up...I still miss it, lol), love to golf, camp, play PC games and Bryce. I used to love to tend my garden so that's where my nick came from...Burpee Seeds.
Boring? Maybe but I'm happy :)

The image is, as always, superb! But the story Really brings it to life! Have you considered illustrating a story about one of your many characters? This is Great!

When being chased by a monster, you don't need to outrun it, you just need to outrun the guy with the blindfold... Seriously though, great stuff! I'm afraid I can't help you out with DS mat settings.

Good rendering... Nancy... nice to see your concept story image...

Neat story-line and scene, but is it a Daz or Bryce render ? I'm saying DAZ as there is no kool landscape...right ? Anyhow, a very special treat & ~Cheers~ :o)

Jeff, details, details, lol :) It is a Bryce render. There is an entire landscape behind the characters that you can't see. I created an image with this character and a dinosaur but I didn't care for it. I may post it just to show peeps then delete it after a few days. That would be kind of cool as I'm sure others do that too?

Great scene; wonderfully composed and executed. The threatening figure on the right is certainly nightmarish. Nice use of light as well. Fine work, as always!

Terrific render and lighting Nancy!Wow!Impressive carachters and pose!!!Congratulations!....If about shaders you intend to say textures(i have always doubts about my english knowledge, sorry!),click on View/Tabs/Surfaces,and the corresponding windows opens on the right near Parameters. Here you have Basic or Advanced,in Advanced you have many parameters and with a double click on every parameter you can open other windows where you can upload your personal materials.I hope to have understood right, but in any case the textures work is not the best function in D/S,it's not so easy to use.Ciao!!!

Aren't there any Daz Studio tutorials at Daz3D for texture mapping? What other 3d apps do you have? I'm so much better with 3ds Max, Vue, Poser, Bryce, Silo, Mudbox, Carrara, Truespace .... I got Daz but never messed with it much. Judging by the image you've made here, I'm impressed with how you've made it work so far.
