Description

This is one I took a few days ago in Mom's garden. I think it's a hosta, I can't remember exactly. This is a pretty fluke shot; I sometimes shoot without looking at the screen or the viewfinder and see if I can get lucky. This time I did. There has been some postwork done: in addition to brightening up the colors like I usually do, I added a gradient of dark green to light green in a seperate layer, switched its Blending Mode to "Color" and reduced its opacity to about 35%. I wanted to give the picture sort of an alien light to match the otherworldly look of the underside of the plant. Hope it works for you guys. Thank you all so much for your comments on "frog grass shadows". I wasn't incredibly fond of that one so you can tell I'm glad you good people liked it. More soon.

i'm just gonna go ahead and say it. this is your best photo to date! i'm not including your mixed medium work cuz those are too cool to compare haha. they're like a tour in the backs of a random subconsciouses. but before i get in a rant on those, this Shade picture is a cool picture by itself with the postwork, plus- the name of it is "Shade" and the leaves are cool and aerodynamic and with the low POV it has a "Mother Nature's stylish contemporary architecture for the little creatures" feel to it. and thats cool, then- the frame and the "SHADE" title in green contemporary letters is perfect with the green contemporary leaves. that little green title totally enhances the style in the picture itself. and that's dope, and- you went and mentioned the Alien effect and now i can't look at the picture without hearing an Alien "buzzzzzzzzzzzz" in my head haha. i hope you've printed it and framed it and hung it next to your Brad Pitt posters.

I love that green look as hostas give that impression in the garden. I think you have made this look really great.
