I was born in Zimbabwe on 03/06/88. My family, consisting of parents, older brother and sister, migrated to South Africa when I was six months old. We moved back to Zimbabwe six years later, to help my grandparents on their farm - a career change for my father.
After a measly eighteen months we upped sticks and went farming on our own. This led us to Kwekwe, in the heart of Zimbabwe, to farm tobacco! Borrowdale farm which is part of the "Midlands Black Rhino Conservancy" is where we settled . This was the most incredible experience, living with such an abundance of wild life ........... of which we became a part of during the school holidays! Due to the "land redistribution policy" we had no option but to move on.
10th November, 2001 saw us arrive in New Zealand with our former lives packed into a suitcase each, ready to start our new lives. Our first three years were spent on the South Island and I nearly froze!!!!!!! A great employment opportunity for my father had us move up to the North Island. I now live on a farm just outside Matamata aka "Hobbiton" (defrosting).
Yep that should sum it up ha!

I also like the tilt to this shot! Very nice work.

I LOVE the tilt! I think it adds alot of depth to the image. The hardass perspective and beautiful scenery and colors make this a good photograph, but in my opinion it's the tilt that makes it genius.

Ok, I think I would have liked it straighten up a bit or altogether so I guess you are right about "some of us." But that's because I think its strong enough to call attention to itself without the tilt. Excellent colors and mood to this. Great pov that puts you right there with the boat (if I'm laying on my side. LOL). A really wonderful and rich photo. I like it alot.
TwoPynts
Yeah, the tilt works well with your compo, and you got great depth going on here as well. Good luck with the new semester!

I normally hate tilts but this ones a cracker!! Thank goodness you didn't try this out on the sea or the internet-lubbers would be falling off their swivel chairs. Please tell us where the location is.

Beautiful image...it can stand on its own...doesn't need the tilt.

Very interesting POV, after studing it a little, I like the tilt. Excellent shot!!!!!!!

A super angle to take this shot as it draws your eye onto that great little boat. Makes me feel like taking it out for a fish. I love the colouring too very rich looking.

Wow I love the tilt in the shot. You do really awesome work. I really like the image and the colors are amazing great job :-)
Santa29Klaus
Beautiful! Wow!

Experience has taught me that the average person can't seem to handle things like this...or for instance a close cropped portrait where part of the head is missing.....average = boring and this my dear is NOT BORING...nor is it AVERAGE. It is intense, gripping....draws the eye...EXCELLENT. I too find the critical comments hard to swallow, but take what fits YOUR art and let the rest sift through your fingers like sand on the shore. I love your brave individuality....it's what makes your work necessary in the world. :o)b itsumama telling it like it is,
Boofy
From the sounds of the comments here your world may tilt if u dont feed the msses your tutorial friend! Like the tilt, (except if you had a hangover I guess)nice dof. Jen
natalieb
I think it doesn't work that well straight, cause you don't have so much attention on the boat anymore. It makes a great effect tilted this way with the tip of boat in the corner. Good work Kai!
Onslow
Wow thank you Kai - I should have seen this before :o I like the tilt it adds a great dynamic to the image - now whatever can you mean if its good enough ?
mark.spooner
Lovely work!
BibbyBear
Well it sure seems to me that you have the approval of just about everyone an dyes, that includes me (not that this means anything to you!) but I just love this tilt effect - did you shoot it at this angle or did you rotate it in postwork?? No matter I suppose, the effect however achieved, is magnificent! Brilliant colours and lighting too. xx
lizzibell
Nice colors...
