tinkering with lateral displacemnts....serendipitous really...but pleasing all the same!....all comments and critiques are most welcome and appreciated!!

Keep on driving those displacements. Here's a tip though which I'm used to from using Mojo, if you want your displacements to be smoother. Keep you smallest scale and the displacement roughness in your terrain fractal lower. It's all a kind of compromise though because reducing this will reduce your terrains details but it aids nice smooth displacements because they are not traveling across really rough terrain and creating nasty artifacts. Try juggling these things and the details of your displacements as well. Really smooth terrain is OK if you are adding all the details with your overlying displacements. There are many ways to juggle these things. Ways for some areas of your terrain to be smoother than others. It requires some experimenting and knowing where big displacements are going to be.
