Description

Hiya all.. This is my first dynamic dress that I modeled in Hexagon 2. I won't tell how many hours I spent to model this ugly and full of mistakes, very bad mesh and not likely the usual dynamic dresses like 400k, but 4mb, because if I tell you, you would think my IQ is 5.. :) Well, I think I subdivided the dress too many times then necessary, and I still could not figure out why the back of the dress tends to go down when simulating instead of sticking to V4's back??!! I am using a 4GB ram, 512MB video ram machine, even though it is pretty powerful, my poser was close enough to choke while it was calculating the cloth.. :( At least I am trying to learn.. Every tailor held the scissors once for a first time in their hands, right? :) My goal is to be able to create some dynamic dresses and share them with this wonderful community.. However, I used dear !Corvas!'s velvet material which you can get with Catalina for sure and Larilla I belive, and also wonderful lights from Corvas's Catalina pack.. Shoes are from _Al3d_, which I adore.. Hair is Paris65 from FKDesign. aaaannnndddd dress is by ME! heheheee.. Have a good time for the rest of the weekend.. :) (by the way, if you want to have this dress anyway -except the material- just let me know, I would love to share it..)

Lovely pic and its a great dress - worth all those hours. And i still haven't figured using dynamic props let alone building them, and i've been using poser sonce version 3 - you think you have problems, lol. Well done. 5++

I think you need to make the top edge on the back of the dress into a contrained group to keep it from moving. Very nice work BTW! I would like it! Pleeeese!

Looks good to me- my conpliments! :) About the big size: well, dynamic clothing needs not so much polys like conforming. But when the polycount is higher and the cloth has more faces the simulation runs more lifelike. All the clothwrinkles here look very lifelike- the thing why I love dynamic clothing so much :) The thing I suggest to you is : set the collusion depht and offset to 0.4 or 0.5 and simulate again- the dress is too far away from the body. This is the only fault I may see.

Fine quality showcase render of a beautiful dress you can be very proud you made. I know I would enjoy using it. (I just need to learn to conform it so my Daz Studio would work.) There are some free tools that can reduce model size by vertices, face, and UV coordinate reduction. A free ones that come to mind are "Stomp" and Poseray but there are more out there. In Poseray care is needed using "weld vertices" to avoid excess damage to your mesh. Stomp is eazt, but does less. It can be used to fix some models with missing or bad UV coordinates, but reduces size less too. Excellent creation and display!!!

Saw your 2nd dress promo shot -- gorgeous! and of course had to pop into your gallery to take a look at your first --- what an unbelievable bit of work, well done indeed, plus of course, if you feel like sharing it, I'd love to give it a whirl, I think my latest character Cali would look fantastic in these dresses of yours!

Well, I can't comment on any technical issues... but I think it looks great! Just the kind of dress to show off a woman's curves. Like the velvety texture, too.
