Description

Brandenburg Gate, Berlin, Germany Date:2007-07-19 at midnight Camera: Nikon Coolpix 8700, tripod some postwork by daraniel.... (thanks) Theme: Where are all the tourists gone.... This is the navel of Berlin, or should I say the navel of the German universe? lol.... Day after day this is the meeting point of tenthousands of tourists from all parts of the world and the most photographed point in Germany. Taking a snapshot of the Brandenburg Gate is very difficult because it is a place of dozens of events as pret-a-porters, rock concerts, children-of-the-world days, greenpeace demonstrations, presidents visits and so on.... So the gate mostly is hidden beneath stages, tents, lightshow contructions, fences, police cars,real and false VIPS and their servants and bodyguards.... It took some "attacks" and my good nose for situations to catch the gate in this classical manner... Hope you enjoy it. Have a nice sunday everywhere. Greetings from berlin.

It's great to see the gate as a work of art lit by golden light. So often we see it in a drab Cold War context looming in back of the wall.
