Description

This pic although by no means technically even average was remarkable in a way. It's something rarely seen by the public for obvious safety reasons, but also it was a case of point and shoot, and the quick focusing of the lens producing an average shot. As you can see the chopper was only feet off the deck, flying into an 40+ knot wind including buffeting from the wind moving around the hull, and talking to myself and an AWACS flying overhead. It was a French Marine Helicopter taking part with the US Navy in a NATO exercise off the coast of Africa. The subject was an elderly guy, (1st class passenger) who collapsed from the weight of his wallet, we later found out he made a full recovery thanks to a couple of dancers from a local bar, who diagnosed his symptoms and relieved him of the problem lol.

Maybe it's not technically perfect, but it is pretty intriguing non the less. Glad to hear the locals were able to help out with the quandry of the elder gentleman. Great way to start off your gallery, and welcome to R'osity btw!!

Nice shot Dave, and welcome aboard! I look forward to some more of your only "by no means technically even average" photographs. Or even technically average will do. Thanks for bringing us, like you say "something rarely seen by the public", I always like these type of shots.

Not an easy shot to take and I would never say this is just average. You must have some very high standards. Fascinating image and I think, wonderful sense of action with great clarity...I look forward to seeing more of you work. And LOL at the dancers relieving the elderly gentleman of his burdensome wallet... Welcome to RR!-M :^)
