Description

I started this using a cheap tablet and Artweaver.Half way through I bought an Genius Tablet and Painter X.The Tablet is really great with 1024 pressure levels and is A4 in size. It cost £91:compared with cheapest Wacom of the same size, the cheapest I could find was £315. Artweaver is a great programme and nothing would ever make me call it.After all its what got me started. Thanks Boris for a wonderful free programme. When I started usind Painter I felt I had died and gone to heaven. What a fantasic programme.Well worth saving up for. Well here they are the second ever females I have painted!.All done on one layer, with a photo for reference. As usual any comments good or bad are always read and appreciated. Many thanks Alec

Very beautiful work. I can see a real progression in this work. It appears more refined. You did an absolutely wonderful portrait, conveying personality as well as wonderful color and tones. I am certainly not one to be able to critique portraits since I am a abstract painter. LOL But I know what I like and this is one I like. I can just imagine how wonderful your work will become as you keep going. Hugs, Suzanne

looks nice so far.. but it looks like it's still in the wip stage. I looked at your other painting, and it's kinda the same thing. Don't be afraid to be a little more bold with color and contrast, making things "pop out" and lively. You've got painterX.. awesome program, with a variety of brushes... you could go crazy with the background to create a little bit of texture. It really does add something to a painting, instead of just a flat color. Don't know if you've ever tried Linda's painting an eye tutorial, http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=227727

This is such a beautiful painting. I like the way have captured their eyes, which has always been the most diffcult thing for me to paint. Hope to see more of your work.

Thanks for your notes, missed you too. So you finally jumped in with both feet. Glad your in love with Painter X. This work shows lots of growth and is wonderfully creative. I just love the eyes and the jackets. By the way, where do you live that you spend pounds instead of dollars?
