Description

Me and rayne took a walk through Vale Park & Cemetery here in Schenectady, NY. It was opened, I believe, in 1857, but alot of old church graveyards have relocated their graves, so there's many dated before 1857. From what I hear, there are even graves from the Schenectady Massacre which was the late 1600's. We haven't made it through the entire graveyard yet, as there are some 40,000+ graves here. This statue is called The Black Angel and rumor has it that the Black Angel guards the cemetery.

This is a superb capture, powerful, very beautiful. I too find much peace walking in Churchyards and Cemeteries. It is not from any morbid interest, there is much peace to be found in these lovely old places. I hope to see more posts from you. Diane.
