Description
Oil painting 800mmx800mm
These two Backhousia Myrtles are growing in a rare patch of Western Sydney Dry Rain forest. They are a part of a painting series called Couples in Landscape - where trees of the same species image or grow very similarly to the other in the same location. Yes these are two trees not four. On a personal note My wife and I have a plaque on our wall as a motto for our marriage (I gave it to her on our engagement) "May we grow together in the love of Christ." So for me the trees also represent a real partnership.

They are very similar to the two twintrees growing beside a little river close to my house here in Germany and I was truely touched when I found them. I know you have seen the photo of them in my gallery. I love this place very much and it´s got a very special meaning for me. This is a wonderful painting!

A beautiful painting. I really like the motto for your marriage. The only way to really make a marriage work.

Treform, this is a painting with character. The details are beautifully defined and convincing, the soft ambiance is true to the light that would be filtering through the upper foliage. I like the muted ground colors, nicely contrasting with the more lush greens. I feel a sense of spirtuality when viewing this work. Russ
