Description

A closer view of a part of the diapir. Some of you have asked me about the salt mining in this deposit. The true is that it started before Roman times. The production of salt is made leading the water of the springs by a network of aqueducts to horizontal plattforms constructed in wood and stone denominated farms in wich the water is distributes. The evaporation of the water makes ready the salt for harvesting. Due to the little volume of the springs also the pumping of water to the interior of the earth was used, increasing in this way the production. The farms are in the slope located behind the diapir and descending towards the valley. Many thanks for your visit and comments. Have a great day !
