Description

My first orchid in its first flower. I am very proud of the way that it is growing since I have no previous experience with them, but they look nice alongside my carnivorous plant collection and have simmilar needs. Tell me what you think of the photo.

Excellent macro! The center of the main blossom is so clear, even when viewed full size. The purple bamboo isn't really to my taste - I think it competes with your gorgeous flower a bit too much. You're taking awesome photographs! (And growing a fabulous orchid!) Try cropping so as to frame your main subject in a bit more interesting way. Experiment, look at other people's galleries, see what you like. You're certainly on the right track - the quality of this image is superb! Beautiful subject, really nice light, great focus, great POV. Keep 'em coming!
