This photo was taken on the island of Nassau at the botanical gardens - summer 2005. The photographer in this case is the flamingo trainer at the gardens using my camera.

My vocation currently is ASIC design. I design logic circuits that end up in chips. Graphics of all sorts are a hobby that take me away from the tedium of logic. As of late I have taken a slight detour into photography and astrophotography.

Did one heck of a job. I have done some photo restoration on family photos and it is no easy task to make it look right. Excellent work and tell your father, if he is still with us, thank you for his service, it is greatly appreciated!

Wonderful job! As a former Marine, I know how much those old unit photos can mean to someone, and it's a good thing to see one restored to what it once was.

Excellent Job! It looks like the toughest part must have been the 3 faces that needed reconstruction.

Wow brilliant, I have done these type of photos in the past in photoshop and can be a tricky task at times to do. I love doing these type of restorations and colourising the image to complete it off! Very well done my friend! :D

Since I was asked... I did this with Corel Photopaint and Photoshop Elements. I use Elements for lighting and Photopaint for everything else. I find that Corel does what I tell it with more of the tools, like the clone tool. Elements tends to do unexpected things to pixels in it's efforts to do what it thinks I want, annoying. Photopaint does not. Lighting is easier in Elements and it seems to be a lot more stable than the other tools in the suite. Corel uses most of the Adobe plug-ins, it does the same things, and it is considerably cheaper to upgrade than Photoshop. I do not know if CS2 or CS3 suffers from the same behavior - I doubt it but the cost is prohibitive when playing with the range of stuff that I play with. - my opinion - The rest of the work is done in my head. The reconstructon of the soldiers faces is based on what the other side of the face looks like... I also use Maxim DL for some of the FFT and DCT functions as well as Imaginomics Noiseware for removing excessive noise. Bottom line is that if you have a tool you are familiar with use it a lot and get good at it.
