Description

Hey rendo folks :) It's been a while since I actually finished an image. Sooo, here it is. Blacksmith! Inspiration came out of some bantering with couple people in the Poser forum (mostly Clawshrimp). Character is Anton's Apollo Maximus. Blacksmith apron modelled mapped and rigged by me. Leather texture by Bagginsbill. Sorry I forgot what packages the rest of the pieces came from. So, he's got his heavy leather apron and is starting to gather up the tools and opening shop, looks like my little blacksmith is in business. Getting little cocky there and posturing as if he's saying "Bring it on!", I'm ready for ya. Never mind he can't afford shirt shoes and shorts just yet ;) If anyone wants it, I made the apron a freebie, in a dynamic and conforming version, and it can be found under my freebies here (sorry, correct link is giving me grief at the moment)

Mighty sexy blacksmith, Connie! Nothing on under that apron?? Very nice render. I really like Apollo. I made a morph and fell in love with him, lOL!

Oddly first thing I noticed about this is that the transparent frame looks excellent against the black background. Really everything looks good to me. The lighting is really good, you can tell looking at the shadows inside the building that there is more than one light source but you have to look real hard for that. All of the props look great, and love that apron.

Gosh, you are on a downer Connie - your image doesn't suck at all! It really shows off your cool Blacksmiths apron in fact. It tends to get pretty hot standing next to a furnace all day so being in the altogether under that apron makes a lot of sense (watch out for sparks though - ouch!!). You could of course turn your skills to making a nice shirt for Apollo next; maybe even a full dress suit(?!). Cool work!

This is a very nice image you've put together. Great job on the Blacksmith apron! I suppose he has no clothes on under the apron because he's going to be working up a good sweat with all the work he'll be doing. ;)

LMAO you beat me to the clothing comment before I could post it Connie. The fact that the inside of the blacksmith shop looks so empty draws my attention away from him. As far as what can be added... is there a forge that comes with the building? I would make that even partially visible if you are able to. Oh yeah and smithing tongues, thats a must while smithing, as running from the forge to the anvil with red hot metal in your hands tends to get a lil toasty. The fact that the anvil base is touching the opaque border doesn't bother me one bit. lol hope I didnt drop a brick on your head with this critique, you have an awsome start and in my opinion you don't need to add much to make it really zing. LoL and put a pair of kevlar undies on that guy, molten slag hurts and molten slag in the crotchal region, well that thought will give me nightmares for weeks lol.

Thank You guys! Sowwy, I'm being such a moody McGrumpy last few days! Critiques are great! I really appreciate them! I'd rather hear what's wrong then nothing at all! (Probably because I'm qute capable of assuming the worst when I hear nothing)

Don´t have any crits! I looks like a picture frame from a movie. I think a B/W version will work fine, also. Found it great, even when he´s not wearing shorts or whatever he may need!

I realy like the way you have used colour in this image. The contrast between the guy and the subtle muted tones of the rest of the scene looks great!!

Connie, Nice image, I especially like the color. Thank you for the Apron. Your image reminds me of a movie. Mel Brooks? Erik the Viking. The women of the village never wanted to let the blacksmith leave town for battles. They always said "Not the blacksmith, who will mend out pots and pans?" Wearing only an apron, he will be able to repair things really quickly. hee hee.

Love the pose, great morph, good lighting. If anything is off, to me, he's almost dead center and kind of lost in a lot of background. Needs a good zoom in. I do like your framing technique however, very classy!

Terrific image Connie! Mr. Blacksmith is quite the classy hunk, and has quite the set of guns on him! :) A very detailed and a very sharp image indeed! I like the natural colouring, and the various shades used. The element of "darkness" speaks to me for some reason, and creates quite an appealing mood and atmosphere---- subtle yet sexy...(especially with that hammer-like object next to him) Hmmm..... :) Very well done! I really admire this piece of artwork!

The image is very thoughtfully put together - the placement of items slightly overlaping each other enhances depth perception, and helps the eye move nicely through the image. His expression and pose are priceless... The only thing I am wondering about is, perhaps paradoxically, the neatness and beauty of it all. I hear 'blacksmith' I think a messy job, a ot of black stains, sweat, brick-a-brack lying around...Perhaps he is just getting established. A pleasure to eplore this image, in more ways than one!

Ok the thing I notice here are his eyes, which seem a bit blank to me. Also, the hammer handle should rest on the anvil, I think.

Great work with the apron Connie. That's all he needs anyway...I hear that's hot work. Cool scene (though I'd prefer a blacksmithmistress...maybe I'll try my hand if I can find the pieces. LOL)

I like the way he's dressed. I like my men mostly naked, lol. :) Excellent apron model and even though I've never used Max yet I think he's one of the best male figures out there. Great job!
