By day, I write software. Not very exciting, except I get to see firsthand why software is so buggy. Most of the rest of my time is either spent on family or 3D modeling/animation. As far as the modeling goes, I do a lot of science fiction shoips/vehicles. I try to constantly improve my skills and techniques, so comments on how I can better do things is always appreciated.

Original... I like the choice of Lego pieces... you made a very detailed model! Excellent artwork, 5+++++!

Certainly great design and modeling, but I'm not very fond of lego and the less of lego flying through space. :-) Don't you wanna make a realistic version of the ship? That would surely be great.

I'm split on the LEGO issue. On one hand, I've been told that the use of LEGOS (and what happens to them) in my animations add a lot to the humor. On the other hand, it is hard to work with the LEGOs as they have TONS of polygons, there may be copyright issues, and they don't look as realistic. I don't make the HUGE ships lego-like because it wouldn't be practical and at that scale it would be hard to tell anyway. What I am thinking of doing is remodeling all of the LEGO ships to be different but still look LEGO-like (plastic, blocky). I would love to make them all realistic and detailed, but I'm worried that would subtract too much from the style of the animations. I don't know, maybe it'll be fine to have realistic ships and interiors but have LEGO people walking around in them.

I remember that there used to be a program called Leocad, that did 3d things with legos. something like this, I think. Great modeling.

Either way the Lego factor is great, would love to see little lego people, great idea :) Angela
