Description

Hi all I'm posting something a little different today. These strange patterns in silt and sand catches my attention whenever I take a walk up the beach from where I surf on vacation. At low tide under the Pacific Coast HWY 101 California bridge. The Santa Ana River enters the ocean and leaves some interesting patterns behind in this silty grey sand. It's not very colorful like most pictures I shoot but the texture and contrast was worth shooting. Normally I just bring my Boogie Board But this time I brought my camera also just to record these patterns for later use in composites for digital art and for 3D modeling. I walked so far to get this shot that I blistered on both feet, from cheap flip flops:( but I did get lots of nice texture shots. And still rode lots of nice waves in 72F water NO wet suit required (Totally Awesome :) I hope you likey. Please leave comments. God Bless

I really like these textures in an almost B/W photograph. I would suggest exploring this further with the intension of obtaining different patterns and shapes. In doing so, consider exposing more for the highlights and thereby creating more tension and drama, including the conversion to a B/W or even duo-tone photograph. I promise you will not regrete it! Thank you for sharing. egmont
