Description

Prismacolor Marker on 14X11 Bristol Paper Thank you for coming in to stop by and look at my latest image. I appreciate your time, and critiques. This one was tough to get through. I learn a great deal about myself when I create these types of images. One thing, for sure, is that I have to forgive myself alot. Sometimes I get upset that things aren't the way I had envisioned them to be, and so I have to forgive myself for the mistakes I make. I'm now at a point where I can identify the color name by just looking at the image, so I'm happy about that. I'm curious, though, what people see in these types of images. What do they latch onto? Does it matter? Should I care about what people think or say of my work. Arghh, all the things an artist has to contend with. Although, in the big scheme of things, it's the process that matters the most. . .nothing else. I am working on another one, but probably won't be done with it for another six or seven months. It's bigger, and more intricate. Not sure if I should continue with these. What do you all think? The value of the medium is low, and the risk to create with marker is also low, yet these take significant amount of time to make. I need to keep thinking about it Thanks for looking!

I think this is great, exhuberant, creative work. It sounds like you're looking for encouragement & if so, I'll throw in my two cents & say that I'd be interested in seeing more of this type of work - or even better work that could evolve from this. But I don't believe in art by committee - ultimately you need to make a choice of whether you want to try to figure out what other people want you to create or to develop your own creative process that means something to you...

Yes, please continue with these!! I am so amazed how there is so much detail, so much colour, yet it doesn't look jumbled or unbalanced in any way. They are so vibrant and alive. It's wonderful! You shouldn't care too much what other people think, in that other opinions should never hinder you, just maybe give you an insight into how your images can be interpreted by others, or how suggestions on technique or stye may help your process in some way, but art is such a personal thing anyway. These colourful images you do are stunning. Superb artwork!!

Sorry, I've been so long in viewing this, but I'm delighted with the return of what you are so obviously gifted in. There's that rare balance of intricacy, vibrancy, colour, motion, discovery and surrealism, and it doesn't intimidate like other surreal works. Do please continue making these; I'll look forward to them. These have something that is very uniquely you. Warm regards, hanevi.

Absolutely brilliant work! My apologies for neglecting a response to your comment. Between illness and loss of my puter I was out for a bit. I can't remember his name but this reminds me of a Mexican artist whose work was in a lot of galleries online and off. Lots to look at for a long time! Lynn
