Description

Medusa @ Daz Mood Master D|S Z-Depth FX Layers - using 2 sun glows, one orange and one pink blended with the render in post. The sea is made from mgHeightfield Primitives @ Daz, a little plugin that I had totally forgotten about. its the plane primitive with the same texture I used for the sea inserted in field map and it created the 'morph'. Seagulls are from MelGama's freebie here - Seagulls for PS7 or + (which work just fine in Adobe Photoshop Elements 2) Thanks very much for previous comments and thanks for looking. :)

Wow - the sea is impressive! I've done something similar in Bryce, but I'm going to have to try it out in DAZ. Excellent render!

Were's the bow wave? With that kind of rough seas, the ship would be crashing through the crests of the waves, sending up massive amounts of spray as the stem(bow) of the ship smashes through them... a good job on the water texture, but a little more needs to be addressed on the realism of the scene, since that does seem to be the aim of the artist.... oh, also, the shadows look a little too crisp, since the day looks a bit cloudy the shadows would be more diffused, especially on the water, following the contours of the ocean surface. And try to show some age and weathering to the sails, salt is a very corrosive element at sea, weathering and aging, and rotting anything organic, sails, wood, even iron... The image is a good start, just a little more study of the genre and adding the little details will make this a great post...

that all sounds like a lot of extra work and i'm lazy, heh. yea, i didn't put much thought into the extra effects like the bow wave. yeah more research would have helped, i'll keep that in mind on the next one. thanks! :)
