Description

The genesis of this idea occured way back in 1978 when I saw Superman The Movie. His costume and insignia (the stylized S apparently being the El family crest) were based on conventional Kryptonian clothing - yet their outfits glowed, while his didn't. So, I revisited my old idea and made him a glowing suit more similar to what was portrayed on his homeworld in the Richard Donner epic. I am an avid Superman fan and didn't initially cotton to the smaller S shield Bryan Singer used in Superman Returns. It has since grown on me, rather - I got used to it - so I'm okay with it now. Still, I wanted more of an amalgam of various S styles so I made mine broader and squatter. The face is a little bit the late Chris Reeve, a bit Brandon Routh and a bit me (borrowing from the Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell tradition). The final image is very, very close to what I originally intended - and I think I'm happier with it than anything I've previously done!

Well done with the glowing fx. Really adds to the image and makes the costume stand out more...as it should. Great work...
