I have always thought barn owls were special because their faces were so flat with the pointed feathers down the middle of the face. This is a beautiful shot of a very healthy and proud bird. They (owls) have a very unique eye structure...did you know? The eye fits into a "cuff" on the rim of the eye socket that gives the eye protection as it swivels in the socket. At least I've been told that is its purpose.

Mirror, mirror on the wall... who's the fairest of them all? :) Definitely this pretty little barn owl. Her posture is just phenomenally captured... Seems so soft and pure-- with a very domesticated touch. Very beautiful patterning on her wings, as well as the fine detail of the little specks sparesely covering her tummy and parts of her body. You've definitely caught superb and complimentary lighting--- so clear and crisp! The focus is stunning and absolutely flawless! Beautiful image, my friend!

Proud and beautiful this Barn Owl stands. We do not have any in our area, but when I travel to Los Angeles, I see many dead ones along the main freeway, as they dive towards the lights of the big trucks at night, commiting suicide. Thank you for sharing. egmont
