Description
In the distance you can see a pollen tower, one of the biggest I have found so far on planet Spinner. It stretches above the clouds. The yellow clouds are pollen. You can't see so clearly on this shot but the normal clouds are white. Scattered across the ground in the sand are seeds for new Spinner plants. The flower in the foreground has been pollinated and will produce seed.
Maybe I will add a moon to Spinner and seas when TG water is properly sorted.
Still on a mission to show that TG is not just ideally for realistic (or earth like because realistic isn't such a good word anyway) and Mojo more fantastic. This isn't the case anymore because all the extra functionality that aids realistic features also drastically increases TG's potential in other areas which I like but I also want my pictures to look "real" it's just not quite so fundamental for me. I had planned to work more on realistic atmosphere and lighting but I seem to go for a painterly look rather than photographic and slightly more gloomy scenes which can be hard to get realistic looking. Maybe it's because I used to paint. I'm not sure. Maybe if I was a photographer my work would look different. I've even ditched using GI, for the mean time anyway.
This is my favourite image so far. I have a version 4 times this size. I'm very happy with it. TG can do what I want.
I should work on a few experiments I did that actually looked much more earth like. At first, for this planet, I actually had stacks of very realistic looking rock but my tendency is to actually discard that kind of thing.

Hey this is a fantastic looking render, love the colours and the shapes. Even more surreal than an abstract mojoworld type world because of the volumetric clouds and proper shadowing. I think its the juxtaposing of realistic and fantastic that makes for better surrealism. The addition of a moon would be a great idea. Ryan i'd like to see a render from this during a sunset/sunrise, i know how much better TG is than mojo and volumetrics at creating those. Top marks for this experimentation !
