Description

Like the majority of my work, this image just happened without any thought or real sense of direction. I like to work that way as I think it allows the image to be ‘brought to life’ in just the way it chooses to be (if that makes sense!). When we allow our imagination to guide us, we reveal more of ourselves in our artwork. On viewing this image, my sister told me that water is indicative of emotion. Bearing that interpretation in mind then, it’s as if the spheres are collections of thoughts and feelings rising from the surrounding sea of emotions. I think they are going on a journey somewhere – perhaps to someone? I’m not sure what the walkway represents, but perhaps it’s a place of strength; a place to go when the there is a storm in the sea. Or perhaps it’s just that I’m regressing back to the classic Bryce first image; “Sphere Over Water”? :-) I’ll let you decide! If the walkway were to scale, it stretches for about 8kms. There are 1500 spheres in this and you’re welcome to count them, just to make sure! ;-) All Bryce 6.1, no postwork. It probably looks good at full-size, just to see all the reflections. Any comments are always warmly received! Hope you like it.

"Chaos brings forth order, for from it dreams are made!" I myself allow the image to create itself and from this the words are born. "Not all you see you see, for behind the thought a hidden magik lies!" "As for your image its brings forth an enigmatic beauty a scene that calms the soul, thank you for sharing friend!"...:))

You and I definitely think alot alike. With little planning usually, my pieces just "come out". It's like being able to see a figure that's already in an uncarved piece of granite. This is definitely a nice piece of yours. I'm assuming you used the mutli-replicate option in Bryce to place the spheres? I think I'll trust you on how many spheres there are... ;)

I feel this is my favourite of your work, as it contains a sense of freedom and is a soothing, relaxing image. Did you find it hard producing the randomness of the multiple spheres? I had a similar problem with the image of mine that you commented on. Oh, hope your enjoying the hot weather - 'cause I'm not! Huw Carr

The image being ‘brought to life’ in just the way it chooses to be is the greatest way to work, it is in the eye of the render-er to see fit when the render is complete and when to abandon the work for something called completion.
