Description

I took this shot while standing under the Deception Pass Bridge, on the South side (on Whidbey Island) looking North and a little bit West. It feels much safer here than up on the bridge deck! There are signs posted that say, "CLIMBING ON BRIDGE IS PROHIBITED." You don't have to tell me twice. No way am I climbing out on that thing! If you want to learn more about the bridge, you can check out this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deception_Pass_Bridge I hope you've enjoyed this little series. Deception Pass Bridge is a fascinating place. If you ever get up to this neck of the woods, check it out!

Unique view and perfect title to go with it. Actually, those beams look perfect for climbing. Probably a good thing I wasn't there... Beautiful POV and capture!

I love photo's of structures, this one is fantastic. I can visualise the men working on it, climbing up and down the beams, hammering the rivets home. At the end of the day actually having a feeling of satisfaction at a job well done. Brilliant picture great pov, its got to be a fav for me. +++++5+++++

Excellent POV!!!!!!! The part about Whidbey Island that gets to me is, only two ways off, bridge on the north side and ferry on the south... If those two ever fail, you've got a trapped feeling!!!! And many times there's been an accident on the bridge and it was closed, and the ferry out for some reason or another... usually for repairs... sorry for the ramble, it just reminded me...

Erector set indeed! You employed a fine POV and DOF to capture this magnificent structure, with its myriad of bars, beams, girders, etc., depicting an awesome geometric tour de force. In viewing these great wonders in the comfort of the home, most people don't realize the effects of the wind, the noise from vehicles thundering by at breakneck speed, the concentration it takes to acquire the most advantageous angle standing in an unfamiliar ambiance to photograph the image. Well done, auntie!!!
