Description

Finally I've finished it! It's my first 2D portrait ever apart from one failed attempt I did last year for college, so go easy on me! I am pleased with it, however, there is still a lot I am not happy with, as you can probably see. the fingers look wrong and the hand seems out of propotion, and i would like to improve the look of the skin texture, and there's probably a lot more that needs improving, so any suggestions and tips would be most welome! This is Jared Leto, The frontman of 30 Seconds To Mars. This man is such a genius, and smoeone I admire and look up to so much. Painted entirely on Photoshop. Thanks for looking - sorry I haven't been around for a bit - the internet's not working on my computer, so i'm on my mums! thanks xx Cosmic

BLOODY HELL! thats awsome source!! well bloody done lol youve put soo much effor into this! i think the hands look totaly fine and i love the jacket sooo much, its really well detailed. i think the hands and skintone look fine to me :) i think all it needs is a little bit of shadow under the neck and around areas to make the jawline and stuffs stand out a bit and maybe a bit of shine over the eye lid and on the lips. but your first attept at 2d! I wish i was this good at my like 50th attempt lol! well done again love ya my pineapple flavoured condom!

Wonderfully done, especially for an early attempt. The jacket came out exceptionally well, and I like the eyes in particular. If I may make a suggestion...hair can be a rather difficult thing to do. But there are some tricks that I know, that may help. First, I suggest getting some hair brushes for your paint program. They will be less blunt at the ends. Also, after you have your hair ( in it's own layer is best ),use the smudge tool at about 1 pixel diameter, to give it more of a natural look. You pull the strands to stretch them out and soften. This works especially well on the hair along the outside of the image. Also, adding a slight drop shadow to this layer will give a remarkably good effect and make the hair more realistic. If you want to see what I mean, I have a pic in my gallery called 'Eowyn and Gollum', and you can see what that painted in hair looks like. Hope this helps. And once again, a wonderful effort on your part. Hope you'll do more.-M :^)

Thanks for your suggestions! I really love this art form, it just takes so long and is so intricut, requiring a lot of patience! I definately will improve this as i go, and see what i can do with your tips for the hair, Margana! Thanks Al! I'm gonna add a bit more tone and highlights too :) thanks xx Cosmic
