Description

Nikon 7900 image. This particular species of Robber fly is much bigger than any I have ever seen. He was almost as big as my thumb. Much larger than even the Giant Robber fly. I have not been able to identify the exact species even after several hours of on-line research. It is not the same species as I showed in my posting entitled "A Charming Absurdity" He returned to the same area for several days but has since not been seen by me since the last week of June. My father always said that to hold someones interest you always should leave something to the imagination - create an air of mystery. But in this case, I am so pleased you captured every detail possible. Magnificent.
